Naturally occurring microbes in the environment  consume the fibers, just like they would cotton, wool, or rayon. Bio-Knit has a matte finish and softens over time, without losing tenacity.

Impact for the Planet:

  • 500 plastic bags can be saved per year with one Junes bag.
  • Plastics can take up to 1,000 years to decompose in the environment.

Impact for Women:

  • Each Junes bag keep 18 women earning a sustainable income in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
  • A portion of the sale goes to empower and protect women from violence. 117,696 women, and counting.

In 2014, a visit to Ciudad Juárez, Mexico was eye-opening for Junes founder, Janean Mann. She saw many fliers seeking information on missing women, mostly young girls. The culture of corruption, cartels, and misogyny in the city has led to a perfect storm of violence against innocent women.

For the last four years, Janean has dedicated the design, prototype and creation of her company to helping these women. She partnered with an allfemale sewing co-op in Juarez to offer sustainable income for the women there. And now, for every bag purchased, a donation is also made to help empower and protect women from violence, through the Global Fund for Women.

Junes believes women support us. They shoulder us. They carry us. And now, you can carry the bag that supports them back.
